Perfection is a state and being… September 12, 2014 – Posted in: ds_world – Tags: blessed, continental cup, dawn harper nelson, iaaf, meet, perfection, track and field
Approaching my last race of the season, IAAF Continental Cup, and looking back at this year, I’m blessed to say I’ve come out pretty successful and learned a lot. I find myself often thinking about the things that didn’t go right, and I remind myself to focus on the positives. I think that’s just the perfectionist in me. I want to strive daily to be better than I was the day before and try not to make obvious mistakes. I’ve trained too hard to let these opportunities slip away. In the moments when I’m too hard on myself, I’m blessed to have coaches, family, and friends to remind me that no one is perfect and happy they’re there because that is the last thing on my mind. What comes to mind is something heard before, “quality is what sets many apart from others.” If this kind of sounds like you, then both of us can try and remember to not be too hard on ourselves because that too is also what makes us, US! Last race to try and make the least amount of mistakes as possible. Here I Go!!!
